Concert of ancient Sikh music played on forgotten instruments

The Leicester Museums and Galleries is hosting a concert of ancient Sikh music played on forgotten instruments. Musicians of the Raj Academy, London, will play and explain this musical tradition in New Walk Museum on Saturday 29 November 2008 between 5pm to 7pm.

Ragi Bhai Baldeep perfoms in city

NRIs urge Punjabi University to protect folk Punjab Music

Shivdev Singh Sidhu and other NRIs has formed Punjab Heritage Foundation USA fro promoting traditional folk music and dance of Punjab. They urged Chandumajra, who was also syndicate member of Punjabi University, University should come forward to support traditional music and dance.

Bhai Mardana Classical Sangeet Sammelan from September 17 to 19

Punjabi University, Patiala, will be transformed into a nerve-centre of Indian classical music. It will have its name embossed on the horizon of classical music with the launch of Bhai Mardana Classical Sangeet Sammelan on the pattern of internally acclaimed Harvallabh Sangeet Sammelan, to be held on the University campus from September 17 to 19.
