Punjab CM condoles sad demise of eminent Sikh scholar Prof.Pritam Singh

p singhPunjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of a noted Sikh scholar, academician  and recipient   of 'Shiromani Sahitya Award', who passed away at Patiala on Saturday after a prolonged illness.

In a condolence masseage, the Chief Minister described Mr. Pritam Singh as a multi-faceted personality with vast experience of teaching spanning over 40 years and panning down several books as  invaluable treasure in the Punjabi literature.

 He said Dr. Pritam Singh was dedicated to the core to serve the cause of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat in his last breath. His outstanding services towards the promotion of the Punjabi language, linguistics and  literature would be ever remembered by one and all.

Mr. Badal expressed his heart felt sympathies  with the members of the bereaved family and pray to the Almighty to give strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile member parliament and president SAD Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal also condoled the death of Dr. Pritam Singh saying he was bestowed with the qualities of head and heart and above all was a fine human being.

Information and Public Relations Minister  Birkam Singh Majithia mourned the passing away of Dr. Pritam Singh and said a void had been created in the Punjabi literary circles which was difficult to be filled. He said Dr. Pritam Singh unique contribution towards the promotion of rich Punjabi literature for children and the Punjabi writers' encyclopedia would always act as a source of inspiration for the young writer.

The Education and Languages Minister Punjab Dr. Upinderjit Kaur also expressed deep shock at the sad demise of famous Punjabi writer and academician Prof. Pritam Singh who expired after prolonged illnesses at Patiala.

In a condolence message Dr. Upinderjit Kaur said that in the death of Prof. Pritam Singh, Punjab as well as literature world has lost a writer whose writings gave it a new identity and a social purpose.

The Education Minister expressed heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed to God to give peace to the departed soul and strength to bear this irreparable loss.
