Akal Takht Jathedar leaves for Pak

Besides, a mammoth jatha of 1,610 Sikh pilgrims headed by Mr Makhan Singh Nangal, a member of SGPC, left for Pakistan yesterday by a special train to celebrate 536th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, founder of Sikhism.

The special jatha headed by the Jathedar Akal Takht would participate in the inauguration of Singh Singhnia Gurdwara at Nau Lakha Bazaar at Lahore. The place is famous in Sikh history for persecution of Sikh men, women and children by the then ruler of Punjab Mir Manu.
