SAD (A) objects to temples gilding

Addressing a press conference here today Bhai Ram Singh general secretary of the Akali Dal said that he had written a letter to the SGPC chief and lodged protest in this regard. He said that his party was opposed to the unscientific kar seva (renovation work) being carried out in the Golden Temple, which is an exquisite specimen of Sikh architecture and heritage of Punjab.  Bhai Ram Singh urged the President of the SGPC to take advice of government and non-governmental agencies like the Archaeological Survey of India, the Town and Central Planning Department, the Architecture Department and the Departments preserving of Art, Culture and Environment before starting any kar seva of  religious buildings of historical importance. 

He also appealed to the Nishkam Sewa Jatha, Barmingham to consult experts before kar sewa of gold plating at the Golden Temple.
